Dr. Rando-Grillot Recital Hall Beam Music Center

The Musical Arts Singers will perform Choral Medleys highlighting music of Richard Rodgers, George and Ira Gershwin, Disney favorites, and sentimental 40’s music in a popular music concert at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, in Dr. Rando-Grillot Recital Hall in the Beam Music Center at UNLV.

The program under the direction of Dr. Douglas R. Peterson features music from “State Fair” and “Carousel” by Richard Rodgers, and highlights songs by George and Ira Gershwin in Who Could Ask for Anything More?

The performance includes entertaining songs by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice, with music from award-winning animated movies “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Aladdin,” in Disney Dazzle arranged by Mac Huff. The Musical Arts Singers will also take our audience down memory lane with A Sentimental Journey, a montage of popular music from the 40’s.

Accompanied by Eric Eichorst, the concert opens the 2nd half of Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society’s 56th season and marks Dr. Peterson’s 51st season as Music Director of SNMAS, Nevada’s distinguished Choral Society and longest running arts organization!

The concert is sponsored by John E. Tucker and made possible in part by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students, military, and disabled and may be reserved at the UNLV Performing Arts Center Box Office (702-895-2787) www.unlv.edu/pac.
